Ghana legal betting sites: read the Gaming Commission register
Use Ghana's official gambling register without confusing product rows with operators, trade names with legal entities or a listed brand with an exact website domain.

The short answer
- The Gaming Commission table captured on 9 September 2026 contained 85 unexpired product-licence rows across 68 unique trade names. Those are different denominators, not competing operator totals.
- The separate Consul Games row expired on 31 January 2026 and is excluded from both current counts.
- SportyBet, Betway, BetPawa, MSport and Betano each had one sports-betting row and one online-casino row running from 1 January to 31 December 2026.
- The public table exposes trade name, operation type, issue date, expiry date and location. It does not publish the legal entity or an authorised consumer domain, so a row alone cannot authenticate a website.
- A brand missing from the table is not automatically illegal. Report the dated register result, then ask the Commission for the legal-entity or domain bridge needed for a broader conclusion.

These are register-side product records. The table does not supply a company name or domain for these rows, and Atlas did not use brand similarity to fill either field.
The register counts products as well as names
Ghana's Gaming Commission tells players to use its licensed-operator list when checking whether an operator is registered. The list is useful, but its physical rows are not a simple count of betting companies or websites. Each row represents a trade name paired with an operation type and dated licence period.
Atlas normalised the table captured on 9 September 2026 into 85 unexpired product rows and 68 unique trade names. The difference comes from names that appear under more than one operation type. Treating every row as a separate operator would double-count those names; treating every trade name as one all-product licence would erase the product boundary.
From question to defensible conclusion
The register counts products as well as names
Original Atlas analysis: 85 current rows become 68 trade names
Trade name, legal entity and domain are three different checks
Product scope must stay attached to its own row
Original Atlas analysis: 85 current rows become 68 trade names
Atlas grouped the current rows by the trade-name string published by the Commission, while retaining operation type, issue date and expiry date on each source row. The resulting 68-name view is a deduplication of the table, not a claim that Ghana has 68 legal entities or 68 authorised domains.
The expired Consul Games row was removed from the current population because its displayed expiry date was 31 January 2026. The current table also contains a BINGO AFRICA row for Bingo, but no archived official row-level snapshot survives to prove when it was added. Atlas therefore records the present row without inventing a historical change date.
Trade name, legal entity and domain are three different checks
A trade name is the consumer-facing label shown in the Commission table. A legal entity is the company that holds the permission. A domain is the exact website a player visits. The current public table does not expose the latter two fields, so the strongest conclusion available from a row is narrower than it may first appear.
For example, a BETANO row supports the presence of that trade name under the displayed product category and dates. It does not prove that every site using the Betano name, every Kaizen group company or every Betano domain is covered in Ghana. The same limit applies to lookalike domains and to international group licences issued elsewhere.
Product scope must stay attached to its own row
SportyBet, Betway, BetPawa, MSport and Betano each appeared twice in the captured table: once for Sports Betting and once for Online Casino. All ten rows displayed 1 January 2026 as the issue date and 31 December 2026 as the expiry date. This supports both product findings for the dated register snapshot, but only because both rows exist.
A single Sports Betting row would not prove an Online Casino permission, poker, lottery or another product. Likewise, an expiry date belongs to that product row; it should not be projected onto a company, domain or different licence without a matching official record.
A practical Ghana licence-check workflow
Start with the exact website and product being offered, then use the Commission list as one evidence layer. Preserve the check date because the table is a live register and a result can change before a commercial, legal or player decision is made.
- Copy the complete hostname and name the product: sportsbook, casino, bingo or another category.
- Search the Commission table for the exact trade name rather than a similar logo or group name.
- Record every matching operation type, issue date and expiry date separately.
- Do not manufacture a legal entity or domain when the public row leaves those fields out.
- For a higher-stakes decision, ask the Commission to confirm the company-to-domain bridge and current status.
- If there is no match, report only that the name was not found in the dated table; do not convert absence into illegality.

Verification and complaints answer different questions
The Commission's FAQ directs users to the licensed-operator list to check registration. It separately says that a complaint may be sent with evidence by email or letter, or submitted through a complaint form at a Commission office. A complaint route is not licence evidence, and a licence row is not proof that a complaint has merit.
Keep the hostname, account identifier, dates, transaction records and operator correspondence together when escalating an issue. Those records help identify the service and product, while the Commission can determine how the public trade-name row connects to the responsible company or domain.
What this guide does not test
Atlas did not open accounts, test geolocation, deposit or withdraw money, compare bonuses, assess customer service or verify that every game displayed on a site falls within a product row. This is a register-reading guide, not a review, ranking or recommendation to gamble.
The operator table was successfully captured on 9 September and recorded as source-ready on 12 September. A fresh request on 14 September reached the Commission's verification screen rather than the table, so this article keeps the dated snapshot instead of claiming a same-day population. The Commission's homepage and FAQ were available on 14 September.
Method, limits and next review
Atlas retained every unexpired product row from the official table, normalised whitespace and case for grouping, counted unique trade-name strings, and kept the source operation type and dates on each row. The 85-row snapshot has SHA-256 9f96cd7db178e117ed94fc58cdadbcc7766be71a5cc2ca2ba2d83ce18dcfaaee. The five selected brands were then checked against their separate Sports Betting and Online Casino rows.
This method measures the public register fields, not the number of legal companies, brands owned, domains authorised or products actually available to a user. Atlas will recheck the guide by 14 October 2026 and sooner if the Commission changes the table, publishes entity or domain fields, or issues a notice affecting a named row. The current official source controls if it differs from this snapshot.
