Jackpotbet bankruptcy sends Danish players to a trustee as a separate funds case reaches court

Jackpotbet A/S is bankrupt. Denmark's gambling regulator says the company was declared bankrupt on 18 June 2026 and, as a result, lost its licences to offer online casino and betting services in Denmark. Players holding money with the operator are directed to the appointed trustee at DLA Piper Denmark.

That direction is a process route, not a repayment guarantee. The public notice does not publish the estate's assets, total customer balance, expected dividend or distribution timetable. A player claim now belongs in the bankruptcy process described by the trustee.

The regulator points readers to litigation involving DK Gambling ApS, a different company that entered bankruptcy in April 2022. Its trustee refused to pay player-account funds outside the ordinary estate, leading one player to argue that gambling law gave the balance special protection.

The High Court agreed with the player on 13 November 2025. It held that the account funds carried a right of separation and therefore belonged to the player ahead of other creditors. The ruling overturned the earlier Maritime and Commercial Court result.

The DK Gambling trustee obtained permission to take the case to the Supreme Court. A hearing is scheduled for 10 March 2027, and the Danish Gambling Authority has permission to intervene in support of the player's claim.

Until the Supreme Court rules, the High Court judgment is both important and contested. It is evidence of a favourable legal interpretation for one player in one estate, not a universal promise that every balance at every bankrupt operator is immediately recoverable.

Jackpotbet A/S and DK Gambling ApS are not interchangeable names. They have different bankruptcy dates, trustees' decisions and procedural records. The regulator links the subjects because both raise player-account questions, but it does not state that the DK Gambling litigation legally resolves Jackpotbet claims today.

This separation protects players from false certainty. A broad headline saying Danish court protects Jackpotbet funds would be premature. The court case described by the regulator did not arise from the Jackpotbet estate, and the country's highest court has not yet delivered the final interpretation.

The Jackpotbet story changes when its trustee issues a claims, asset or distribution update. That record can address deadlines, recognised balances and the treatment of account holders within this estate. The regulator's notice provides trustee contacts but does not answer those financial questions itself.

The legal question changes with the Supreme Court judgment in DK Gambling. That decision may confirm, narrow or reverse the High Court reasoning. Atlas will track both routes independently so a development in one file is not silently copied into the other.

A bankruptcy claim is easier to assess when the underlying account record is preserved. Players can retain account statements, deposit and withdrawal histories, identity-verification correspondence, terms in force at the time and any communication from the operator or trustee. The regulator's notice identifies the official contact route for Jackpotbet questions.

That practical step does not predict the outcome or replace legal advice. It gives the trustee evidence to compare against the operator's books and prevents a later website change from becoming the only surviving account record.

The licences ended because the operator was declared bankrupt. Revocation answers whether Jackpotbet may continue offering the regulated products; it does not calculate what each player receives from the estate.

The trustee handles the insolvency process, while the gambling regulator reports the licensing consequence and follows the separate legal test. Keeping those functions distinct avoids suggesting that a licence action itself releases account balances.
