Cyprus legal betting sites: read the Class B register

Cyprus's National Betting Authority publishes separate registers for Class A and Class B bookmakers. Its FAQ defines Class A as land-based betting and Class B as online betting. A shop licence or authorised-premises record therefore cannot answer whether a website is licensed.

The current Class B page gives the evidence chain a player needs: legal entity, trade name, licence number, exact domain, current status and licence term. Atlas counted 13 rows, 13 legal entities and 13 published hostnames. All 13 rows displayed Licensed on 21 September 2026.

Atlas compared the current bookmaker sections of the Class A and Class B registers by exact legal-entity name. Class A contains six entities and Class B contains 13. Five entities appear in both: Betathlon, Bet On Alfa, Meridian Gaming (CY), Cleverpath Holdings and OPAP Sports.

The union contains 14 entities rather than 19 because those five overlaps are counted once. Eight entities are Class B-only, while Bookieco Betting Stores is the sole Class A-only bookmaker in the current lists. This is a register comparison, not a count of agents, premises, brands or websites.

An entity appearing in both registers has two separately numbered permissions. For example, Meridian Gaming (CY) Ltd appears under Class A licence A013 and Class B licence B009. The online row also publishes meridianbet.com.cy; the land-based row does not convert every Meridian hostname into an authorised Cyprus site.

Licence terms can differ between the two classes even for the same entity. Atlas therefore retains each class, licence number, term and domain on its own row instead of merging them into a single brand status.

The Authority describes Class B as electronic betting services. Its FAQ expressly excludes slot machines, directly linked online casino games and electronic horse racing from that activity. The blocking-list guidance separately names poker, online casino, spread betting and betting exchanges among services that can be illegal when offered without the required basis.

A Class B row therefore supports the listed online-betting domain and term. It does not support a claim that the holder may offer casino, poker, slots, exchange betting or horse-race betting in Cyprus. Product scope must remain attached to the regulator's wording.

Most Class B rows pair one trade name with one domain, but that pattern is not a rule that Atlas can extend. Cleverpath Holdings Limited lists two trade names, MEGABETPLUS and SCOREBET, while the same row publishes only megabetplus.com.cy.

The safe conclusion is that the licence row connects Cleverpath, both displayed trade names and the one published hostname. It does not let Atlas invent a SCOREBET domain or treat any site carrying that name as covered. Exact-hostname checks remain necessary.

Start with the complete hostname and the product being offered. Preserve the check date because a licence can expire, renew or change before the next review.

Atlas captured the Class B and Class A bookmaker sections on 21 September 2026, normalised entity names only for the overlap count and retained the published trade name, domain, licence and term. The 14-entity result is the set union of six Class A and 13 Class B bookmaker entities with five exact-name overlaps.
