The short answer

  • The official iGaming Ontario directory reports 49 operators and 84 gaming websites, accurate as of 1 September 2026 and rechecked by Atlas on 16 September.
  • An operator company and a consumer gaming website are different records; one company can operate several sites or product-specific domains.
  • A regulated Ontario relationship requires local evidence and cannot be inferred from a licence held in another province or country.
  • Absence from the directory is recorded as not listed in Ontario, not as a global allegation about the brand.

The current official totals

iGaming Ontario's consumer-facing directory reports 49 operators and 84 gaming websites, with the listing marked accurate as of 1 September 2026. Atlas rechecked the live page on 16 September and found the same totals.

The date matters. Operators can enter or leave the market, websites can be added or retired and a brand can change legal entity or domain. A total without its source date should not be treated as a permanent market fact.

How Atlas matches a brand to the directory

Each step must preserve the jurisdiction, product, entity, source and review date.

Ontario uses a two-part regulatory framework

Private operators serving Ontario's regulated internet-gambling market must be registered with the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario and must have an operating agreement with iGaming Ontario. AGCO sets and enforces regulatory standards; iGaming Ontario conducts and manages the competitive market through those agreements.

This is a local framework. A licence or registration from Great Britain, Malta, another Canadian province or a US state cannot be reused as proof of Ontario authorisation. The Ontario record must stand on its own.

Why 49 operators does not mean 49 websites

The directory separates operator companies from gaming websites. One operator can run more than one consumer site, and one brand can expose different sportsbook, casino or poker destinations. That is why the official page shows 84 websites for 49 operators.

BetMGM illustrates the distinction: its current Ontario entry exposes sportsbook, casino and poker websites plus a separate Wheel of Fortune casino site. Apollo Entertainment lists eight casino sites under one legal operator, while Bally's Canada lists Bally Bet and Monopoly. Counting company rows as brands understates the consumer-facing market; counting every website as a separate operator overstates it.

How Atlas matches a brand to the directory

Atlas begins with the exact consumer brand, then checks the directory's operator name and published website. The match is strongest when the legal entity, trading name and domain all align. Product labels are preserved rather than expanded from assumption.

This review keeps product scope narrow. The directory links LeoVegas to www.leovegas.com under casino only, so Atlas removed the unsupported sportsbook category from the Ontario relationship. The same rule applies to Fanatics Casino: its FBG Enterprises Canada, Inc. entry links fanaticscasino.ca to casino, not sportsbook.

  • Search the exact consumer brand and known trading names.
  • Match the published domain, including Ontario-specific paths or subdomains.
  • Record the legal operator name exactly as the authority presents it.
  • Keep sportsbook, casino and poker evidence separate.
  • Save the directory date and the Atlas recheck date.

What licensed means in this guide

A licensed Ontario relationship means that the current Atlas evidence matches the brand or website to the official regulated-market directory. It does not promise that every product is available at every moment, that every promotion applies or that a particular user will be accepted.

Players must be at least 19 and physically located in Ontario when playing. Identity checks, geolocation, responsible-gambling exclusions and operator account rules remain separate from the directory match.

The official iGaming Ontario directory reports 49 operators and 84 gaming websites, accurate as of 1 September 2026 and rechecked by Atlas on 16 September.

An operator company and a consumer gaming website are different records; one company can operate several sites or product-specific domains.

A regulated Ontario relationship requires local evidence and cannot be inferred from a licence held in another province or country.

How to interpret not listed

Rivalry, Coolbet and Unibet were not present in the current directory under the exact brands and consumer domains reviewed by Atlas. Their Ontario relationships are therefore labelled not listed rather than licensed.

Not listed is deliberately narrow. It reports what was not found in the reviewed Ontario source; it is not a claim that the company is unlawful everywhere, has never operated in Ontario or cannot hold a different type of registration. A later directory update can change the finding.

A five-minute verification workflow

Open the official directory immediately before relying on a status. Search the brand, inspect the operator company and open the displayed gaming website. Confirm that the domain is the one the player intends to use and that the product is actually listed.

Then compare the result with AGCO's standards and the operator's own Ontario terms. If the company name matches but the website does not, or if a product is missing, keep the conclusion pending until the discrepancy is resolved.

  • Start with iGaming Ontario's operator directory.
  • Match company, brand and exact website separately.
  • Confirm the relevant sportsbook, casino or poker product.
  • Check the source's accuracy date and record your review date.
  • Use not listed or under review when the evidence is incomplete.

How this market will be monitored

Atlas now runs a live regulatory check against the official Ontario page. The check compares the 49-operator and 84-website totals, the source date, a set of expected licensed domains and the continued absence of the three not-listed brands in this review.

A failed comparison enters the market into the refresh queue instead of silently preserving the old result. High-risk market guides are also scheduled for review every 30 days and earlier after a directory or enforcement change.
