The short answer

  • This guide checks three Atlas jurisdiction relationships, not Winamax's complete worldwide availability or every country's legal position.
  • The French ANJ record connects winamax.fr to sports betting and poker; Germany's published Winamax row supports sports betting at winamax.de but does not establish a poker permission.
  • Spain needs a product-and-status check: three casino-game decisions dated 17 June 2026 are expressly provisional. A licence entry is not proof of a consumer launch.
  • Use the local holder, hostname, product, status and source date together. Do not extend a French poker permission to a German domain.

The three local domains are distinct. Re-reading a register on 17 October does not change its edition, decision or effective dates. The French directory does not supply a corporate identifier here; similar holder names are not independently resolved into a cross-border corporate-identity record.

Start with the market, not the Winamax name

A search for Winamax licensed countries can hide two different questions: which official records name the business, and which product is covered at a particular website? This guide answers the second question for the three relationships currently tracked by Atlas. It does not turn them into a global permission list.

The useful comparison is not simply three yes-or-no answers. Preserve the holder, exact hostname, game type, status and relevant dates in each local record. A recognisable logo, shared software or company name cannot fill an empty field. The table keeps those differences visible rather than treating poker, betting and casino games as interchangeable.

Evidence path

From question to defensible conclusion

1

Start with the market, not the Winamax name

2

France: a current directory and a dated sports-betting renewal

3

Spain: read the renewals and provisional grants separately

4

Germany: the published Winamax row is for sports betting

Each step must preserve the jurisdiction, product, entity, source and review date.

France: a current directory and a dated sports-betting renewal

ANJ's current operator list names Winamax, winamax.fr, sports betting and jeux de cercle, the poker category. Its separate sports-betting decision 2024-107 was adopted on 25 April 2024 and published on 30 April. It renews permission for five years from 14 May 2024 under identifier 0003-PS-2024-05-14-AGR-02, covering pool and fixed-odds sports betting at winamax.fr.

The dates answer different questions: adoption, publication and start of the renewed term are not synonyms. That sports decision does not establish a poker renewal term. The current directory supplies the poker-category finding; this guide does not manufacture a matching poker expiry date or add casino permission to the French row.

Spain: read the renewals and provisional grants separately

DGOJ names WINAMAX, SA and www.winamax.es. Its index lists six game-specific (singular) licence categories, but a list of labels does not explain each permission's procedural status. The poker renewal dated 9 February 2023 and sports-betting renewal dated 14 November 2024 each grant a further five years from the expiry of the licence being extended, not five years from the renewal decision's signature. Both identify the holder with NIF N2501810B.

The roulette, slot-game and blackjack resolutions dated 17 June 2026 grant provisional permissions. Their operative clauses require definitive technical-system approval (homologation) within six months of notification. The relevant notification dates were not established here, so Atlas does not calculate a definitive deadline from the signature date. The decisions also require the holder to communicate its planned start of activity.

These documents support a provisional-grant finding. They do not, by themselves, prove a later definitive homologation, a live game catalogue or that a particular customer can register. This review did not establish the later technical status of those three products; that remains an explicit evidence gap, not a finding that no authorisation exists. The broad Atlas Spain relationship retains poker and sportsbook categories, with the additional provisional scope explained in its evidence note.

Germany: the published Winamax row is for sports betting

The GGL whitelist edition dated 2 October 2026 names WINAMAX (Société anonyme), winamax.de and Sportwetten. It gives 29 June 2021 as the first permission and 8 December 2022 as the follow-up permission. Neither field is an expiry date.

That row does not establish a German poker permission. The French poker finding cannot be carried across to winamax.de. Equally, a product missing from this selected record is not a judgement on every jurisdiction or an allegation about the operator. This is a scoped documentary check, with no registration, geolocation or payment test.

Last editorial review: 2026-10-17. Review target: every 30 days.

This guide checks three Atlas jurisdiction relationships, not Winamax's complete worldwide availability or every country's legal position.

The French ANJ record connects winamax.fr to sports betting and poker; Germany's published Winamax row supports sports betting at winamax.de but does not establish a poker permission.

Spain needs a product-and-status check: three casino-game decisions dated 17 June 2026 are expressly provisional. A licence entry is not proof of a consumer launch.

The visual summary does not replace the linked regulator records below.

A reproducible check for a product claim

If you are reviewing a market-entry or supplier claim, save the local evidence chain rather than a generic statement that the brand is licensed. The record should let another reader reproduce the conclusion and see what remains unknown.

  • Record the jurisdiction, exact hostname and specific game being assessed.
  • Follow the regulator's own link to the holder or permission; keep the identifier when supplied.
  • Separate a directory listing, a provisional grant, technical approval and an observed launch.
  • Keep publication, signature, notification, effective and expiry dates in separate fields. Do not calculate a missing date from a different one.
  • Recheck changed or conflicting records before an operational decision. Leave an unresolved field open rather than borrowing another country's answer.

Method, limits and maintenance

Atlas read the named ANJ, DGOJ and GGL records on 17 October 2026 and compared them with its three Winamax relationships. The original analysis is the product-and-status matrix and the separation of renewals from conditional grants. Three jurisdiction rows contain three distinct local hostnames; they are not three identical licences, three independently identified companies or a complete worldwide footprint.

No consumer account, bonus, deposit, withdrawal, support or game-availability test was performed. This is neither a recommendation nor individual legal advice. No search-volume, traffic or commercial result is inferred from publication. The sources below retain their own dates and supersede this snapshot if they change.

Maintenance owner: Atlas Research Desk / Editorial. Next review: 16 November 2026, or earlier after a register change or new Spanish technical decision. A later official technical-status decision is required before upgrading a provisional finding; notification evidence is required to calculate its deadline. An operator launch announcement alone is not a substitute.
