First GRAI licence register

The public register was updated on 15 July 2026 and lists 16 valid Business-to-Consumer remote-betting licences. It publishes licence numbers, activities, trading names, issue dates and expiry dates.

Remote betting commenced

GRAI remote-betting licences began on 1 July 2026. Licensees are subject to age verification, payment-of-winnings duties, ongoing monitoring, sanctions and enforcement against unlicensed activity.

Phased market transition

The July register covers remote betting only. GRAI states that further categories, including gaming, lotteries, B2B and charitable licences, will open through 2027 and 2028; existing bodies continue for sectors not yet commenced.

Minimum age: 18

Gambling is restricted to people aged 18 or over. Licence-holder advertising must state that under-18s are prohibited, and operators must apply age-verification requirements.

Payment and account safeguards

Credit cards and gambling credit are prohibited. Remote operators must provide monetary limits, account information, regular spend-and-time alerts and account closure on request.

National self-exclusion in development

The Act provides for a National Gambling Exclusion Register, but GRAI describes the central system as being developed. Atlas does not present it as operational until the regulator confirms launch.
