The short answer

  • The current Atlas review contains 15 licensed BetMGM market relationships across 14 US jurisdictions and Ontario, up from the previous 13-market guide.
  • Ohio and Arizona are now exposed in the public matrix with current sportsbook evidence from their state authorities.
  • Sportsbook, casino and poker permissions are product-specific; the current official Ontario, Michigan and Pennsylvania directories support all three for BetMGM.
  • The legal entity, land-based partner or market-access structure can change by jurisdiction even when the consumer brand remains BetMGM.
  • The downloadable CSV preserves every market, product, authority, source type and verification date in the current Atlas dataset.

Why there is no single BetMGM US licence

Online gambling permission in the United States is primarily state-based. Each jurisdiction decides which products may operate, which company or casino partner holds the relevant permission and which public record demonstrates current activity.

Atlas currently records 15 licensed BetMGM relationships. The number is a count of documented local evidence records, not a national licence and not a count of every state in which an MGM property exists.

Sportsbook, casino and poker are different permissions

Where the current review supports online casino

4

Where the current review supports poker

Each step must preserve the jurisdiction, product, entity, source and review date.

Sportsbook, casino and poker are different permissions

A state may authorise mobile sports wagering while prohibiting online casino and poker. New York, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Arizona, Louisiana, Virginia, Massachusetts and Maryland appear in the current review for sportsbook evidence only; that cannot be reused to claim casino or poker availability.

The current iGaming Ontario directory separately lists BetMGM Casino, BetMGM Poker and BetMGM Sportsbook. Michigan’s regulator directory likewise identifies MGM Grand Detroit with BetMGM for internet casino games and poker plus internet sports betting, while Pennsylvania lists BetMGM in its sportsbook, interactive-gaming and poker directories. Those official product labels support all three categories in all three markets.

Where the current review supports online casino

Ontario, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Michigan and West Virginia carry sportsbook and casino evidence in the current Atlas dataset. Their public records use different formats: operator directories, platform-provider pages, revenue reports or separate licence lists.

A casino listing should be matched to the exact brand and domain. A state’s general iGaming framework does not by itself prove that BetMGM is a current operating brand there.

Where the current review supports poker

Poker is the narrowest category in this review. Ontario’s directory lists a dedicated BetMGM Poker website, Michigan’s current authorised-provider page explicitly includes poker within the BetMGM relationship and Pennsylvania lists BetMGM in its separate poker directory.

Do not infer poker from a generic casino label in another state. If the authority does not name poker or publish a corresponding operating record, Atlas keeps the product out of the relationship until stronger evidence is available.

The company and market-access partner can change

Official records can name BetMGM Canada Inc., BetMGM LLC, Roar Digital LLC, MGM Grand Detroit, Borgata or another casino partner. These are not interchangeable labels: one may be the operator, another the platform provider and another the land-based licence holder.

Preserve the exact local chain. For example, Pennsylvania’s record connects the consumer brand to Roar Digital, Michigan identifies the MGM Grand Detroit platform relationship, and New Jersey reporting can associate BetMGM with Borgata.

How the 15-market evidence was assembled

Atlas prioritises current regulator directories, licence tables and operating or revenue reports. The expanded matrix adds Ohio's May 2026 sports-gaming report and Arizona's current approved-operator page, which lists BetMGM with the Arizona Cardinals for event wagering.

Louisiana, Virginia, Massachusetts and Maryland were also rechecked on 24 August 2026. Massachusetts classifies BetMGM as a Category 3 tethered licensee through MGM Springfield, illustrating why the local market-access chain belongs in the evidence record.

Nevada is the weakest row in the current set because the recorded evidence is a current BetMGM availability page describing mobile sportsbook access and in-person account activation, rather than a brand-level regulator directory. The CSV preserves that source type so it cannot be mistaken for equivalent evidence.

The current Atlas review contains 15 licensed BetMGM market relationships across 14 US jurisdictions and Ontario, up from the previous 13-market guide.

Ohio and Arizona are now exposed in the public matrix with current sportsbook evidence from their state authorities.

Sportsbook, casino and poker permissions are product-specific; the current official Ontario, Michigan and Pennsylvania directories support all three for BetMGM.

A six-step BetMGM state verification

Start with a jurisdiction and product, then build the evidence chain from the regulator outward.

  • Name the state or province and exact product.
  • Open the current regulator operator or activity record.
  • Match BetMGM to the local entity and casino partner.
  • Confirm sportsbook, casino and poker separately.
  • Distinguish a licence, operating record and operator availability page.
  • Record the source URL and verification date.

What the downloadable dataset contains

The CSV exports market, Atlas status, products, regulator, evidence type, official source and last-verification date for each current BetMGM relationship. This exposes both the conclusion and the strength of the evidence behind it.

The dataset is designed for comparison and audit. If a live regulator page later conflicts with the export, the regulator’s current record controls and the Atlas row enters the refresh queue.

What this guide does not claim

A licensed relationship does not guarantee that a particular person can register, deposit or use a promotion. Location, age, identity, responsible-gambling exclusions, operator rules and temporary product availability still apply.

The guide does not treat an MGM casino property as proof of online BetMGM permission. It also does not transfer a sportsbook licence to casino or poker, or one state’s evidence to another state.

Frequently asked questions about BetMGM states

Is BetMGM legal everywhere in the US? No; permissions are jurisdiction- and product-specific. Does sportsbook approval include casino? No. Where does the current review explicitly support BetMGM poker? Ontario, Michigan and Pennsylvania.

Why can the legal name differ from BetMGM? Regulators may publish the operator entity, platform provider or land-based partner. Atlas retains that local structure and reviews the evidence every 30 days.
