Unibet legal countries in 2026: licence status by market
A source-led check of 13 Atlas markets, not an exhaustive country list, separating Unibet entities, domains, products and unresolved records.

Jump to a section
The short answer
- Across the 13 Atlas markets checked, nine match current licence evidence, Ontario and Pennsylvania are not listed, and Malta and Romania remain under review.
- Unibet is a consumer brand, not one worldwide licence holder. Current records connect it to different companies including Platinum Gaming Limited, Kaprifol Services Limited, Optdeck Service Limited and Unibet (Denmark) Limited; France has an entity-level caveat, while the Malta seal and brand disclosure currently conflict on the legal entity.
- The product scope changes by market. Great Britain publishes five remote activity classes, France supports sports betting, horse betting and poker, and Denmark publishes betting and online-casino permissions.
- A local website loading or an account-registration screen appearing does not prove local authorisation. The regulator, entity, domain, product and review date must match.

Where is Unibet legal in 2026? The short answer
Across the 13 markets checked in this guide, Unibet matches licence evidence in nine. Ontario and Pennsylvania are retained as not-listed findings because the current directories reviewed do not contain the Unibet brand or a matching consumer domain. Malta is under review because the regulator seal and current brand disclosure name different companies for the same licence number. Romania is also under review after the last confirmed Class I term ended on 31 August 2026 and no later official validity period was confirmed.
These numbers answer a narrow regulatory question. They do not list every country from which a Unibet page can be opened, every place where registration might be attempted or every territory where an older Unibet service once operated. A defensible answer belongs to one jurisdiction, one legal entity, one consumer domain and one set of permitted products.
From question to defensible conclusion
Where is Unibet legal in 2026? The short answer
Why the Unibet company name changes by country
Great Britain and France show two different evidence models
The licensed product is not the same in every Unibet market
Why the Unibet company name changes by country
Regulators license legal entities and activities rather than a logo on its own. Great Britain's current register connects the active unibet.co.uk domain to Platinum Gaming Limited, account 45322. France verifies the unibet.fr domain and three product categories, but its current directory and latest dated licence decisions do not give one consistent entity answer.
Other markets use still more entities. Sweden records Kaprifol Services Limited for unibet.se. The Netherlands names Optdeck Service Limited as the company offering gambling under Unibet. Denmark publishes Unibet (Denmark) Limited, Estonia publishes LEXBYTE DIGITAL LIMITED and Australia connects the brand to Betchoice Corporation Pty Ltd. Malta is not included as a clean entity example because its MGA seal names Kserol P.L.C. while the current Unibet disclosure names Rol Malta PLC for the same licence number. None of those records should be copied into another jurisdiction without a local source.
Great Britain and France show two different evidence models
The UK Gambling Commission business record for Platinum Gaming Limited shows remote bingo, casino, real-event betting, virtual-event betting and pool-betting activities as active. Its domain table marks www.unibet.co.uk as active. The register covers Great Britain, not every part of the United Kingdom, and its domain names are supplied by the licensed business.
France publishes entity, domain and category together on the ANJ operator list. The current page puts unibet.fr and zeturf.fr under FDJ Online Betting and Gaming France for sports betting, horse betting and poker, then shows unibet.fr again under La Française des Jeux for poker. ANJ decisions 2025-128, 2025-129 and 2025-130, effective 9 July 2025, instead name SPS Betting France Limited. The domain and products are verified, but the current entity attribution remains unresolved. France's list does not support an online-casino or slots permission.
The licensed product is not the same in every Unibet market
Denmark provides a clear example. The Danish Gambling Authority names Unibet (Denmark) Limited, lists unibet.dk and mariacasino.dk, and publishes separate permissions for betting and online casino. The authority explains that the online-casino permission includes games such as roulette, blackjack, baccarat, bingo, poker and slots. That Danish scope does not automatically apply to another Unibet domain.
Australia is deliberately narrower. ACMA's current legal-provider table connects Unibet, Betchoice Corporation Pty Ltd and unibet.com.au to the Northern Territory Racing and Wagering Commission. It proves a licensed interactive-wagering provider entry, not a specific sportsbook classification or an Australian online-casino licence. Belgium also requires product separation: the dated A+ file connects Blankenberge Casino-Kursaal NV, licence 505296 and unibetcasino.be, while the F1+ file connects Unibet Belgium Ltd, licence 116799 and unibetsports.be.
Gibraltar's direct holder PDF lists Platinum Gaming Limited under RGL91 and RGL92 and includes Unibet among its approved brands. That supports remote gambling licensed in or from Gibraltar. It does not by itself prove that residents of Gibraltar, or users in any other country, can access every Unibet product.
What the Netherlands, Sweden, Estonia and Malta records prove
In the Netherlands, KSA decision 1730 grants Optdeck Service Limited a remote-gambling licence from 8 June 2022 through 7 June 2027 for two casino classes, sports betting and horse-race betting. The company must report each brand, domain and app before use. A 9 April 2026 supervision notice explicitly connects Optdeck to Unibet; that notice concerns anti-money-laundering controls and is not presented as a positive quality signal. The last clean Kansspelwijzer record tied unibet.nl to Optdeck and displayed 8 June 2027, one day later than the decision's end date. The page returned HTTP 502 on 8 September, so the binding decision controls the term and Atlas does not infer revocation from the failed request.
Sweden's register matches Kaprifol Services Limited and unibet.se to commercial betting and commercial online gambling from 23 October 2025 through 22 October 2030. Estonia's tax and customs authority lists LEXBYTE DIGITAL LIMITED, the Unibet brand and unibet.ee for online games of chance and toto. Malta's authorisation seal names Kserol P.L.C., marks MGA/B2C/1031/2023 as licensed and lists unibet.mt, while the current Unibet disclosure attributes the same licence number to Rol Malta PLC. Atlas therefore keeps Malta under review rather than selecting one entity claim. The seal's game-type scope does not prove that every listed product is offered on unibet.mt. The older Risepoint record MGA/B2C/106/2000 is surrendered and is not used as current evidence.
Why Ontario and Pennsylvania are marked not listed
The iGaming Ontario directory reported 49 operators and 84 gaming websites, accurate as of 1 September 2026, when it was reopened for this guide. It contains no Unibet entry. Ontario is therefore marked not listed. This is an exact directory finding for Ontario, not a claim about Canada as a whole and not a statement that Unibet has never operated there.
Pennsylvania is handled the same way. Unibet was absent from both the PGCB online sports-wagering directory and the separate interactive-gaming directory when they were rechecked on 8 September. The former listing remains discoverable for historical context, but it is not presented as a current licence match. A not-listed label is intentionally more precise than calling the brand globally illegal.

Across the 13 Atlas markets checked, nine match current licence evidence, Ontario and Pennsylvania are not listed, and Malta and Romania remain under review.
Unibet is a consumer brand, not one worldwide licence holder. Current records connect it to different companies including Platinum Gaming Limited, Kaprifol Services Limited, Optdeck Service Limited and Unibet (Denmark) Limited; France has an entity-level caveat, while the Malta seal and brand disclosure currently conflict on the legal entity.
The product scope changes by market. Great Britain publishes five remote activity classes, France supports sports betting, horse betting and poker, and Denmark publishes betting and online-casino permissions.
Romania remains under review after the displayed term ended
The last clean ONJN Class I record available to Atlas named Unibet (Germany) Limited, covered sportsbook, casino and bingo, and displayed validity through 31 August 2026. The 1 September retry did not return a usable current record, so neither renewal nor a post-expiry product scope was confirmed and Romania moved to under review.
Under review means that renewal evidence is unresolved. It is not a finding that the licence was revoked, that Unibet is illegal in Romania or that an old term silently renewed. The record should return to licensed only after a later official validity period is matched to the entity, domain and relevant products.
Germany, Portugal and Ireland need three different answers
Three additional checks show why a missing licence cannot be reduced to one global label. Unibet did not appear on the German GGL whitelist updated 7 September 2026 or in Portugal's current SRIJ licensed-entity directory. Those are narrow, current directory no-matches for Germany and Portugal; they do not change the positive records in other jurisdictions.
Ireland is different again. The GRAI index shows a Platinum Gaming Limited notice of intent to apply for a remote-betting licence, published 12 March 2026, but a notice of intent is not a granted licence. The detailed page currently returns 403, so Atlas keeps the source blocked and does not promote the notice into a positive licence finding. These three checks sit outside the 13-market table above.
How to check Unibet in a specific country
Start with the exact jurisdiction and product. Open the current regulator register, then search Unibet, the local consumer domain and the legal entity recorded for that market. Confirm the activity, status, licence or account identifier and any published expiry date before relying on the result.
If the brand is missing, record the directory searched and the date rather than jumping to a worldwide conclusion. If a company matches but the domain does not, keep investigating. A parent-group connection is useful context, but it cannot replace the regulator's brand, domain and product evidence.
- Use the local domain, such as unibet.co.uk, unibet.fr, unibet.dk or unibet.com.au.
- Match the named legal entity instead of assuming every licence belongs to a company called Unibet.
- Keep sportsbook, horse betting, casino, poker and bingo permissions separate.
- Capture the account, licence or concession identifier when the authority publishes one.
- Record the source URL and the date checked.
- Treat no-match and expired-term results as market-specific evidence states.
What this guide does not establish
This guide is not legal advice, an endorsement or a hands-on review of Unibet. It does not test account acceptance, geolocation, identity checks, deposits, withdrawals, promotions, odds, game availability or customer support. Those questions need separate evidence and, for experience claims, a documented testing method.
Atlas will recheck this high-risk guide within 30 days and earlier when a regulator publishes a material change.
