A 39-market, jurisdiction-specific review of Bet365 licence evidence, authorised status, products, legal entities and unresolved records using current primary sources.

The short answer
- The current Atlas review contains 39 Bet365 market relationships: 28 licensed, one authorised, seven not listed, two under review and one restricted.
- Brazil is labelled authorised, not licensed, because Atlas preserves the terminology and scope of the federal SPA record.
- A Bet365 permission in one jurisdiction does not establish permission in another, even when the same brand and domain are visible.
- The licensed product matters: sportsbook, casino and poker permissions can differ within the same market.
- Every conclusion is market- and product-specific; the downloadable ledger preserves the source type and verification date for all 39 relationships.

Status and product scope reflect the cited market record, not website reach. Not listed is a dated source finding for one market; under review marks unresolved evidence; authorised preserves the SPA terminology used for Brazil.
The short answer: Bet365 does not have one global legal status
Bet365 is recorded by iGaming Atlas across 39 regulatory relationships, but those records do not all say the same thing. Twenty-eight relationships were matched to current licensing evidence, Brazil is retained as authorised under the federal SPA framework, seven were not found in the relevant reviewed register, two require further review and one carries a restricted label tied to the available MGA record.
Those figures describe the current Atlas evidence set, not every place where the website may be reachable. Availability, marketing, registration and lawful product supply are different questions. A defensible answer therefore names the jurisdiction, the licensed entity, the product and the regulator record.
From question to defensible conclusion
The short answer: Bet365 does not have one global legal status
What 28 licensed relationships and one authorisation prove
What changed in the 39-market review
Why the legal entity can change by market
What 28 licensed relationships and one authorisation prove
A licensed Atlas relationship means that the brand, an associated operating entity or a consumer domain was matched to current licensing or operating evidence for that jurisdiction. It does not expand the permission beyond the products and territory named by the authority.
Brazil is deliberately separate: the SPA record is an administrative authorisation under the federal fixed-odds framework, so Atlas does not relabel it as a generic licence or invent product categories absent from the structured row. Germany, by contrast, is read against product-specific whitelist entries, while the British record supports a wider set of remote activities.
What changed in the 39-market review
The evidence universe expanded from 37 to 39 relationships and now includes recently rechecked US records for Ohio, Arizona, Louisiana, Virginia and Maryland, alongside refreshed evidence in Mexico, South Africa, Hungary, the UAE and both Buenos Aires jurisdictions. The change is substantive because the public guide now exposes every reviewed relationship instead of a 12-row sample.
Fresh evidence does not always raise the licensed count. Mexico supports bet365.mx in the June 2026 authorised-websites snapshot, while current registers in South Africa, Hungary and the UAE do not show a suitable Bet365 operator match. Those negative findings remain local and dated.
In the Netherlands, a 9 September KSA recheck confirmed that Hillside (New Media Malta) PLC's current licence covers casino games, sports betting and horse-race betting through 30 September 2026. A separate KSA supervision record identifies bet365 as Hillside's Dutch brand, so the table adds horse betting without changing the market status or the 39-market totals. No renewal beyond that date is inferred.
Why the legal entity can change by market
Regulators license companies, not visual brands in the abstract. The entity serving one market may differ from the company serving another, and a group licence cannot be reassigned to every related website without evidence.
A brand search should therefore be repeated using known legal entities, trading names and exact domains. Where the authority publishes an account or licence number, that identifier is stronger than a similar company name.
Sportsbook, casino and poker permissions are separate
The word licensed is incomplete unless the licensed activity is also known. Germany's framework, for example, distinguishes sports betting, virtual slots, online poker and online casino products. US states and Canadian provinces likewise authorise products separately.
This is why the evidence file preserves product categories. A sportsbook match should not silently become proof of a casino or poker permission.

named primary sources
Last editorial review: 2026-09-09. Review target: every 30 days.
The current Atlas review contains 39 Bet365 market relationships: 28 licensed, one authorised, seven not listed, two under review and one restricted.
Brazil is labelled authorised, not licensed, because Atlas preserves the terminology and scope of the federal SPA record.
A Bet365 permission in one jurisdiction does not establish permission in another, even when the same brand and domain are visible.
How to interpret not listed, restricted and under review
Not listed means the reviewed official source did not provide a suitable current match. It is narrower and safer than declaring the operator globally illegal. Restricted means the available evidence supports a material limitation, while under review means the record cannot yet support a stable conclusion.
These labels can change after a new licence, rebrand, surrender, regulator update or improved entity match. The review date is therefore part of the conclusion rather than a footnote.
A reproducible Bet365 licence check
Start with the market and product the user actually intends to access. Open the authority's current register, search the brand and associated legal entities, and confirm the exact consumer domain. Then inspect status, product scope, effective dates and any enforcement or surrender information.
Record the search terms that failed as well as the match that succeeded. This makes a not-listed finding reproducible and reduces the risk of adapting the evidence to a preferred answer.
- Define jurisdiction and product before searching.
- Match brand, entity and exact domain separately.
- Confirm current status and licensed activity.
- Preserve the source URL and review date.
- Use the narrowest conclusion supported by the record.
What this guide does not establish
The guide is not legal advice, does not test geolocation or account acceptance and does not claim that every regulatory database exposes the same fields. It also does not infer legality merely because an international website loads in a country.
Readers should open the linked authority record immediately before making a legal, compliance or commercial decision.
When the evidence will be reviewed again
High-risk operator footprint guides are scheduled for a 30-day review and earlier whenever an authority publishes a licence change, enforcement action or new operator list. The Netherlands record is scheduled for a targeted recheck no later than 30 September 2026 because the current Hillside permission ends on that date. The complete table and CSV expose the current source status, and material changes are recorded in the Atlas updates log.
The downloadable CSV is a dated research output. A later Atlas profile or official register may supersede it.
